Born in the midwest and based in New Orleans, Asher Danziger is a songwriter and author that has been playing music professionally for the last ten years. A storyteller to his core, Asher's songs are Prine-esque tales of humanity, funny and sad, honest and raw, drawing you in with his unique gritty-groovy-bluesy sound. Since moving to New Orleans nearly six years ago, Asher has become an established part of the French Quarter's league of professional street musicians. He also held a weekly residency at the Starlight Lounge in New Orleans for several years, and has frequently toured Europe playing festivals such as “So What’s Next” in Eindhoven, NL and stateside festivals such as “The Folk and Roots Festival” in Urbana, IL. Asher spent the quarantine years seeking to fill the void created by the loss of performing regularly with his band, this resulted in the incorporation of each of his limbs into a new multi-instrumental live performance. Since 2021, Asher has returned to live performance on the street, as well as in New Orleans clubs, and is working on a full length studio album with the Asher Danziger Band.
